MILLWALL duo Jimmy Abdou and Shane Ferguson were both on international duty over the weekend for the Comoros Islands, and Northern Ireland, respectively.
With the domestic season ending in promotion at Wembley back in May, both were in action for their national sides in friendlies this past weekend, with contrasting fortunes.
The Comoros Islands, captained by Abdou fell 2-0 to Togo.
They will look to go again when Abdou will again captain his national side on June 8 as they travel to Malawi for their first qualifier for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon.
Northern Ireland, however, were able to oversee a 1-0 win against New Zealand.
Liam Boyce scored the only goal of the game after six minutes.
Ferguson came on as a half-time substitute replacing West Bromwich Albion’s Chris Brunt.
The 25-year-old will hope to be involved once again on June 10 when Northern Ireland play Azerbaijan in a World Cup qualifier.
