A man’s body has been pulled from the water at Greenland Dock, Rotherhithe, after a search operation was launched on Saturday night.
Rescuers were called at 8:20pm yesterday after reports that a man, aged 26, and a boy had fallen in the water.
The thirteen-year-old boy (previously said by police to be aged ten) was rescued yesterday evening with the help of members of the public. He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
The rescue operation to find the missing man resumed this morning, led by the Met Marine Policing Team with the London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade and the Harbour Master.
Police then gave an update earlier today that a man’s body had been recovered from the water.
His next of kin have been informed, although formal identification has yet to take place.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
