Both disabled and non-disabled circus performers will put on a spectacular show in Dulwich Park next month.
Extraordinary Bodies, the country’s first ‘integrated circus’, will dazzle through song, dance and stunt on May 9 and 10. The show, entitled Weighting, “celebrates every body, disabled or not.”
The performers are also encouraging local residents to take part in the fun, with singers required for a 100-strong choir set to perform between acts. Email events@southwark.gov.uk if you wish to join in.
Cllr Dora Dixon-Fyle, Southwark cabinet member for adult care, arts and culture said: “I’m delighted that so many people are engaged with the show and are taking part in the opportunities to do something extraordinary.
“Weighting is set to be one of Southwark’s highlights of the summer and the participation of the local community is essential to the performance.”
The show will premiere on May 9 with shows at 2pm and 7pm. There will also be a performance on May 10 at 2pm. The News is one of the sponsors of the events, and a full programme will be available in our May 7th edition.
