TIM Cahill scored his first competitive goal for Millwall in almost 14 years to help Kevin Nugent’s under-23s to a 3-2 win over Coventry at the Lions’ training ground on Monday.
Cahill fired home to put Millwall 2-1 up in the Professional Development League clash, after fellow Australian Kristian Brymora had seen his opener cancelled out by Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Kyel Reid levelled for the visitors before the break, but midfielder Harry Donovan won it for the young Lions in the last minute of the game.
Cahill’s last competitive goal for Millwall was the winner in the semi-final of the FA Cup in 2004, which secured the Lions their first and only final appearance in the history of the competition.
Harry Toffolo and Ben Marshall also played for Millwall after their January moves to the club.
