Outs: Max Clayton, Conor Wilkinson, Dean Moxey, Liam Trotter, Lewis Buxton, Reece Wabara, Jamie Proctor
Former Bradford manager Phil Parkinson struck early in this transfer market, making three signings before the start of July. Experienced striker Adam le Fondre made his loan switch from Cardiff City permanent, in between deals for Mark Little and Andrew Taylor.
Winger Will Buckley also joined from Sunderland.
Parkinson has released a number of players, including ex-Millwall men Liam Trotter and Conor Wilkinson. Trotter has yet to find a new club, while Wilkinson joined Ady Pennock’s Gillingham.
Dean Moxey signed for League Two Exeter and Max Clayton opted to join Blackpool, who are back in League One after winning the League Two play-off final in May.
Another former Millwall man, Filipe Morais, signed a new deal recently to continue his working relationship with Parkinson after the pair were together at Bradford.
It took Bolton just one season to return to the second tier, following their relegation with Charlton and MK Dons in 2015-16.
Parkinson’s side beat Millwall comfortably twice last season, with both games finishing 2-0.
Former Lions centre-back Mark Beevers was one of their best performers, marshalling a defence that gave away the fewest goals in League One last season.
Millwall haven’t beaten Bolton in seven games. Their last victory came courtesy of a Darius Henderson double – including a 90th-minute winner – in the Championship in October 2012.
Millwall’s first home league game of the season is against Bolton.
