Bradford co-owner Edin Rahic has claimed the pressure is on Millwall in this season’s League One play-off final at Wembley.
The Lions and the Bantams go head to head for a place in the Championship on Saturday week.
Bradford haven’t played second-tier football since they were relegated from Division One – now the Championship – in 20o4. They dropped to League Two in 2008 before winning promotion back to League One in 2013.
Millwall were relegated from the Championship in 2015, and have reached the play-off final at Wembley for the second year in a row under manager Neil Harris. The Lions missed out on promotion in 2016 after losing 3-1 to Barnsley.
“There is more pressure on Millwall after their defeat in the final last year,” Rahic told Sky Sports. “We have a great chance to get promoted but it is important we stay focused.”
Rahic and Stefan Rupp completed their takeover of Bradford on May 20, 2016. They appointed Stuart McCall a month later, and the former Bradford midfielder led the side the fifth place in his first season.
Rahic said: “It’s a fairy tale, and it really is great to be at Wembley on our first year anniversary.
“Wembley was the aim when we took over, and maybe it is written in the stars.”
