STEVE Morison is still a few weeks away from a return to Millwall’s first team.
Lee Gregory is a doubt after missing the scoreless draw against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night, while Neil Harris was hopeful centre-back Shaun Hutchinson would make a return from a hamstring problem but he won’t rush the centre-back.
Sid Nelson is still out with a thigh strain.
Bury have lost their last nine games in League One, but almost snatched a point at Sheffield United last Tuesday despite having Jacob Mellis sent off in the 43rd minute and Greg Leigh with five minutes left before Ethan Ebanks-Landell scored the Blades’ winner in injury-time.
Chris Bass and Ryan Kidd are in interim charge after the sacking on David Flitcroft following an 11-game winless run that now stands at 13.
Bass was named player-manager of York at the age of just 27 in 2003. He was sacked after just over a year in charge and was back in his playing role when Byron Webster made his senior professional debut with the club in December 2004.
“I still speak to him, he was one of the youngest managers around when he took over York,” Webster said.
“I remember him saying once he wasn’t a piano player, he was a piano pusher. He wasn’t the most technically gifted but he always gave his all and I’m sure he’ll be doing that as a manager.”
Brass will need to make the most of limited resources this weekend. Bury are without suspended trio Mellis, Leigh and Antony Kay.
Leon Barnett and Nathan Cameron are injury doubts, while Kean Bryan, Ishmael Miller and Chris Brown are injured. Niall Maher returns after suspension.
Millwall won both games against Bury last season. Shaun Williams’ strike was enough to claim three points at The Den before Chris Taylor’s double and a Morison goal gave the Lions a 3-1 win at Gigg Lane.
