JAMIE Philpot’s third goal in three games helped fire Woking up to third place in the National League after Tuesday night’s win at Chester.
Kane Ferdinand put Woking ahead before Philpot made it 2-0 in the 71st minute when he tapped home after a deflection.
Lions defender James Brown was rested as Carlisle lost 1-0 at home to Leicester City under-21s in their EFL Trophy fixture.
Jimmy Abdou was also left out as AFC Wimbledon came behind three times to eventually seal a 4-3 win over Tottenham under-23s.
