GARY Rowett is hoping Millwall can add to West Brom’s automatic promotion wobble when the sides meet at The Den on Sunday.
After losing just one once in 24 league games from the start of the season, the Baggies have three defeats in their last eight. Slaven Bilic’s side didn’t win in seven games before they beat Luton 2-0 last weekend.
Millwall drew 1-1 in the league (above) and defeated West Brom 2-1 in the EFL cup in the games between the sides last August.
“They’re a well-balanced side. They made quite a few changes in the summer, lost a few players and I thought it might be a difficult season for them,” Rowett said.
“But Slaven’s come in and done a really good job. I played against him before but don’t know him that well. You can see he’s really respected by the players. He’s got huge experience in the Premier League and internationally with Croatia when he played.
“They’ve got a nice balance of senior players down the spine of the team and in key areas. They’ve got players with Premier League experience like Charlie Austin, and then some good young players with athleticism in there.
“They can score goals in different ways, and have scored quite a lot, but they’ve also got that solidity in the Championship with games churning out every week. So that’s why they’ve been good so far.
“But, they’ve had a little dip in from and it’s up to us to see if we can continue that. We’re respectful of how good they are, but we’re at home and have a good record against the top six. It’s up to us to make it a really difficult afternoon for them, but if we don’t play well then I’m sure they can do exactly the same to us.”
