MILLWALL manager Neil Harris says he will use more of his senior players in the friendly against Crawley Town.
A Millwall XI are at Dulwich Hamlet at the same time this Saturday and that side is likely to be stocked mostly with players who have come through the academy and some on the fringes of the first-team squad.
Shane Ferguson will be involved for the first time in a pre-season game at some stage at Broadfield Stadium.
Lee Gregory and Steve Morison could start up front after both were left out at Dartford.
Harris praised right-back James Brown this week, but Mahlon Romeo could start after coming on as a sub for his young rival at Dartford.
The Lions are looking for a third successive pre-season win and visit a Crawley side that have made wholesale changes to their squad this summer. They have signed 17 players, the most notable the acquisition of striker James Collins from Shrewsbury.
One of their summer recruits, Mark Connolly, believes Millwall will be an important test for his side.
“It’s going to be a tough one,” Connolly told Crawley’s official website. “It’s good that we’re playing against higher-league opposition so we can test ourselves and see how far we actually are off the teams in the league above us.
“Millwall is going to be a good one, but hopefully we can put up a performance and get a result. Millwall are a very good team. The last time I was here we played them when they were in the Championship and we beat them (in the League Cup first round in 2014) at their place.
“They were a very good team last year and just missed out in the play-offs.”
