New Lionesses manager Lee Burch saw his side fall to defeat against Bristol City Women in his first game in charge of the club.
The 2-1 victory for the west country club cements their position in second place in Division Two of the Women’s Super League whilst Millwall find themselves second bottom in the table.
On Saturday a brace of goals from Bristol’s Claire Emslie proved to be enough to take all three points despite a second half effort from Millwall’s Rinsola Babajide.
The Lionesses goalscorer told the clubs website after the game: “It was our first week with Lee and he’s only just getting to know us so overall it seems to have been a positive start.
“He’s made a good impression on the girls and we’re enjoying training.”
Burch has spent seven years on the south coast working within Southampton and Hampshire’s Centre of Excellence, developing female players for the elite game.
He has also worked within the FA as a Skills Coach for nine years whilst gaining valuable managerial experience in men’s non league football.
