Police are warning people in borough to be extra vigilant after a spate of phone ‘snatches’.
Officers from MPS Southwark took to twitter this afternoon to share the news that three phone thefts happened in ‘a very short space of time’ on Union Street, Great Dover Street, and Redcross Way.
The incidents are believed to have been committed by a ‘lone suspect’ on a black moped.
As reported by the News last year, north of the borough a particular hot-spot for moped thefts – with criminals targeting tourists near London Bridge.
E team have dealt with three theft snatches of phones in the SE1 area in a very short space of time where the lone suspect is on a black moped. Please be aware! These offences have occurred around Union Street, Great Dover Street and Redcross Way! ^462MD
