A Borough man appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday, November 21) charged with the murder of a 52-year-old in Chessington, Kingston.
Gerald Matovu, 25, of Guildford Street, was charged with the murder of Eric Michels, who was found dead in his home in August.
Matovu was also charged with a string of eight more offences involving three other victims.
He was charged with administering a poison with intent to endanger life / inflict grievous bodily harm; assault on a male aged 13 or over by penetration; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on one male victim.
He was also charged for theft in relation to that victim.
A separate charge of theft related to another victim while he was also charged with theft in relation to a third victim.
Matovu was also charged with possession of the class C drug, GBH, as well as possession with intent to supply the drug.
A further charge of fraud by false representation related to a fourth victim.
