The people behind Lyle’s are opening their second restaurant in Borough called Flor – part wine bar, part bakery, writes Hillary Chaisson…
Lyle’s (on 56 Shoreditch High St, Hackney, London E1 6JJ) is currently one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, comfortably sitting at no. 33.
Inspired by the buvettes of Paris and the Pintxos bars of San Sebastian, the”little sister of Lyles’s” will be composed of two floors. Stay at the bakery counter on the main floor for a piece of sourdough loaves made from Dorset wheat, milled in-house at Lyle’s along with pasteries galore that will include brioche filled with sourdough carmel.
Travel upstairs to receive banquet seating and a menu that promises dishes including (but not limited to):
- Chocolate sabayon tarts or loganberry fools for dessert
- Mussel, Spenwood, and Vin Jaune flatbread for an entree
And
- Coddled eggs with trout roe and za’tar for brunch on Saturdays
