A male cyclist has died after a collision in Deptford this morning, with Evelyn Street closed in both directions between Rotherhithe New Road and Alloa Road and bus routes also diverted as police investigate.

According to a formal statement published by the Met, police were called at 10.15am to reports of a collision between a car and cyclist on Evelyn Street near the junction with Bestwood Street, in SE8.
The London Ambulance Service attended but tragically the male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say enquiries are underway to identify the cyclist and contact his next of kin.
The driver stopped at the scene and officers say there have been no arrests, with enquiries ongoing.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area as road closures are in place.
Bus routes 1,47, 188 and 225 are also diverted.
