Greenwich Market food trader Ehla.Eat, together with some fifteen other London based street food traders, is serving up weekend lunches and dinners for the hard working NHS staff at Lewisham Hospital.
This not for profit initiative is backed by Sports Banger, Club Mexicana and INK. Sports Banger design and sell NHS T-shirts and hoodies and then use this money to cover the costs for the food.
Melissa and Theo of Ehla said: “Our plans for summer 2020 – including opening up two new sites in Central London, award ceremonies and TV filming – flew out the window with the arrival of COVID-19. Greenwich Market, our home for six years, has temporarily closed and so we decided to help feed the hardworking staff at NHS Lewisham with our super nutritious, joyfully colourful and tasty Eastern Mediterranean Food. All made possible by sponsors Sports Banger, Club Mexicana and INK. Thank you!”
On his twitter account (@BangerJonny) Jonny Banger commented: “It’s been quite amazing working local to local rather than throwing air money into a big totaliser trust fund. Thank you all!”
Ehla.Eat have also set up home deliveries to SE3, SE10, SE13 and SE12 delivering vegetable/fruit boxes and Eastern Mediterranean groceries. Customers can order from the Mediterranean pantry by emailing: ehlapantry@gmail.com
