MILLWALL are preparing to give John Berylson a huge send-off ahead of their Championship game against Bristol City.
The American chairman died in a car accident in the US last month, leaving many at the club heartbroken.
Millwall have long earmarked their first home league match of the season against Bristol City on August 12 as the day for everyone at the club to collectively say goodbye to Berylson.
Along with a minute applause and both teams wearing black armbands, other plans have been put in place to honour the late businessman, who died at the age of 70.
Millwall will play a five-minute long tribute video before the match against Bristol City, reflecting on the legacy of Berylson.
Among those in attendance at The Den will be James Berylson, who replaced his father as chairman, and other members of the family. They will be pitch-side with 15 minutes to go until kick-off.
James will also visit the fan zone an hour before the match starts to meet supporters.
English Football League CEO Trevor Birch will also be at the game and will present the Berylson family with a gift before the match.
Both teams will also lay wreaths behind the two goals before kick-off, and the Lions players will wear tribute warm-up T-shirts ahead of the game.
And fans will be able to buy a tribute book when they reach the ground on Saturday.
It will be priced at £5 with all profits going to the John G Berylson Legacy Fund, although supporters can donate more if they wish.
The books will be available to buy outside the ground (cash only), near the Millwall Supporters’ Club stall (card only) and also in all hospitality areas (card only).
Berylson first become involved with the Lions in 2006 before becoming a significant shareholder and the chairman a year later.
Under his guidance, the club have been promoted twice to the Championship and become an established top-half club in the second-tier.
