BART Bialkowski hailed Jed Wallace’s “unbelievable” strike at Cardiff – and shrugged off his own save to deny Lee Tomlin as Millwall claimed a point at Cardiff.
Wallace levelled by firing a free-kick into the top corner after Aden Flint had put Neil Harris’ Cardiff in front.
“We knew it was going to be a hard game, it’s a tough ground to come to,” Bialkowski said. “Our mindset was to come here and get the three points, but we need to respect the point.
“If you cannot beat the team you need to make sure you do everything to draw the game, and that’s what we did. We got a fantastic equaliser from Jed and we take a point and move on.
“I thought he was much closer than he actually was. It was maybe 35 yards from the goal, it was an unbelievable strike. Their keeper couldn’t do anything about it. Unbelievable.”
Bialkowski produced another stop to add to his repertoire this season when he kept out Tomlin.
Bialkowski said: “It was a good a save, but that’s my job. I’m there for my team-mates to help them out. When you’re enjoying training every day, playing in the games, these kinds of saves come naturally.
“It’s the hard work you put in and it’s paying off on match-day. It’s a team sport and everyone deserves praise from that game.”
Millwall have been hit with illness recently, but Bialkowski has so far escaped.
He added: “I feel good. It’s not an ideal time to get that kind of bug in the team but there’s nothing you can do about it.
“I don’t want to set targets for the team. I’ve got my personal targets but not for the team. We just need to take it game by game and take it slowly.
“We proved we can beat anyone in this league. We beat Leeds, we got a draw against West Brom. We beat Bristol City, drew against Forest, beat Sheffield Wednesday.
“If we do our jobs properly for 90 minutes, and it’s not easy because some teams are going to have spells, but if we’re at it for the most part of the game we can beat anyone.”
