A sixth man has now been charged by murder detectives investigating the shooting of Bermondsey man Kai McGinley.
Today (Monday, March 27) 20-year-old Anthony Wallder, of Eastry Road, Bexley, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
He was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday May 29 .
He joins 23-year-old Kai Osibodu, of Riverdale Road, Erith, Kent, who faces the same charge, alongside Jalees Selby-Gangera, 18, of Woodfield Close, Erith and Enriko Spahiu, 20, of Elmhurst, Belvedere, who were charged on Thursday March 9 with murder and attempted murder after being arrested earlier that week.
Twenty-year-old Connor Brooks, of Horsa Road, Erith and Bradlee Reeve, 33, of Chapman Road, Erith were both charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder on Saturday, March 11.
A plea hearing is scheduled for May 30 with a trial date scheduled for January 3 2024 – both at the Old Bailey.
There have been three other arrests as part of the murder investigation. A 16-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 53-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder have been released on bail. And no further action will be taken against a 17-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Police said 24-year-old Kai McGinley from Bermondsey was shot following a car chase in Erith on Thursday February 9.
Despite paramedics and police being on the scene within minutes he was unable to be saved.
