Labour’s new parliamentary candidate for Peckham will reveal what she would hope for from a Labour government at a talk in Walworth next week.
Miatta Fahnbulleh was named as Harriet Harman’s successor and Labour’s candidate for the new Peckham constituency in November 2022.
Organised by the Walworth Society, the talk will take place shortly after 7pm at St Peter’s Church, Liverpool Grove, on Wednesday, January 17.

The News understands Fahnbulleh, who recently left her role as CEO of the New Economics Foundation, will use the talk to outline what she hopes a new Labour government would do for the community.
Fahnbulleh has previously identified housing and jobs as key focus areas and spoke in favour of a £15 minimum wage during her 2022 campaign.
The talk is significant to Walworth given that two of its wards – North Walworth and Faraday – will move into the new Peckham constituency, currently called Camberwell and Peckham.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak recently said he is working on the assumption that he will call a general election “in the second half of this year”.
