Camberwell pensioners celebrated their care home’s first birthday at a Caribbean-themed party last month.
Residents at Camberwell Lodge Care & Nursing Home were briefly transported to a tropical paradise of sun, sand and steel drums on Sunday, June 17.
They enjoyed singing to steel band performer Mark Cherrie, a delicious BBQ spread and a birthday cake topped with flowers.
Home Manager Beata Gozdur said: “We had a wonderful day celebrating our 1st Birthday with our Caribbean-themed party. Thank you to everyone who came along and our local community for their continued support. We look forward to all of the exciting times ahead.”
In preparation for the day, the well-being team decorated the home with beach-themed backdrop, leis, flowers and a tropical balloon arch.
The care home, which is run by Country Court, cares for up to 98 people, and has facilities including private dining, a wellness suite a pub and a rooftop terrace.
The care home will hold open days on:
