Five abandoned kittens rescued from Burgess Park are being cared for at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
The kittens, just five weeks old, were found wandering loose and on their own under a bush at the weekend by worried residents who took them straight to the home.
Cattery manager Rachel Saunders said: “We’re incredibly grateful to the members of the public who found them and did the right thing by bringing the kittens into Battersea, rescuing them from an uncertain fate. We don’t know what might have happened to them otherwise.
“We never judge at Battersea and we strongly advise anyone who is struggling to look after any cats in their home to please bring them into Battersea or your local rescue centre.
“It is much safer to bring them in rather than abandoning them.
“Other than being covered in fleas, all five kittens are doing well and recovering from their ordeal.
“They will shortly be going out to a foster home where they can fully recover and be rehomed to loving new homes very soon.”
Wow I use that park nearly everyday..wonder what part of Burgess?
