Steve Hiser, the legendary amateur boxing coach, has passed away.
Steve was in his 50th year at Fisher ABC after joining the staff in 1973 before becoming head coach.
He helped develop boxers such as Ted Cheeseman and Mickey Cantwell. “I boxed for England and fought for two ABA titles under Steve,” Cantwell said previously when speaking about his coach’s influence. “He is a tremendous man.”
Tributes started pouring in today (Friday, May 12) after the news of Steve’s passing.
