BEN Marshall revealed Millwall’s players have “started to believe” that a play-off challenge is on – after his superb goal at Barnsley helped clinch a sixth straight away league win.
Marshall made it 2-0 on Saturday after Lee Gregory’s opener when he fired a brilliant curling shot into the top corner at freezing Oakwell.
Marshall has started the last eight games for the Lions after joining from Wolves on loan in January.
His second goal for Millwall helped Neil Harris’ side match the club record for consecutive away league wins.
“It means a lot to us, and it’s great for the fans as well who travelled all this way,” Marshall said “We’re on a roll and we’ve just got to keep it going.
“We started the game really well and took them by surprise, Greggors was a threat in behind. Second half we were under the cosh a bit and didn’t really keep the ball.
“Then luckily I managed to score a goal out of nothing, really. Some of those go in, some don’t.
“The lads have helped me settle in, they’re all a really good bunch. As a player you’re going to play for different managers with different styles of play so the quicker you adapt the quicker you will play.
“I had it in my head what it was going to be like here, how they play and I just stuck to it and luckily I’ve been playing quite a lot of games.
“Since I’ve been here the feeling has been really good. We’ve started to believe a little bit now.”
