NEIL Harris said he expects Shaun Williams to start the season at Millwall – but was less committal on Aiden O’Brien’s future.
The Republic of Ireland internationals were mainstays in Harris’ first three full seasons in charge, but were not regulars as Millwall fought against relegation in the latter part of last season.
Williams, 32, has a deal until 2020, while 25-year-old O’Brien is contracted until 2021.
“Shaun Williams, I expect to be here next season,” Harris said. “Shaun Williams didn’t play much football because he was out for two months with the injury he picked up at Bristol City on the back of scoring six goals previous to that. He was in fine form.
“He came back, had to adapt, be patient. But again, he will be resting, recuperating and be back for pre-season.
“Aiden, I expect to be here pre-season. He has got to come back fit and firing, fresh, hungry and wanting to force his way into the team.”
