MILLWALL are continuing to treat Ben Thompson as he aims to recover from a hamstring injury.
Thompson hasn’t played since December after he picked up an ankle injury at Derby and then had a setback after returning to training last month.
The Lions’ squad are currently away from the training ground, but Millwall boss Gary Rowett explained Thompson still needs to see the physio staff.
Frank Fielding is also rehabbing after an arm injury ruled him out for the season.
“It’s a difficult one. Everyone’s under the same sorts of guidelines, where if you don’t need to be at work then work for home,” Rowett said.
“Some of those players, in particular Ben Thompson, he needs to be at work because he needs treatment, otherwise he’s not going to recuperate in the right way.
“What we’re trying to do is get him some treatment intermittently, whether he can do that himself or whether he can come into the training ground with a member of staff in a safe way.
“What we’re not going to do is bring four or five players in, we’re not going to bring the other players in that are fit. Someone like Thommo’s in a slightly different circumstance so if we can do it in a safe way we’ll maintain his programme and make sure he gets back and recuperates from a health aspect as well.
“That’s the plan at the moment. The physios, PT [Paul Tanner, head of medical services] is managing that and the doc. Of course having a doc in and around is quite helpful when he’s not needed elsewhere.”
