NEIL Harris insists Rotherham is “much more important” than the FA Cup match against Everton last weekend – and Millwall already have a game plan against the Millers.
Harris revealed his players switched their attention to their league clash with Rotherham immediately after their famous win over the Toffees sent them into the fifth round.
Millwall are four points above Rotherham, who are two points clear of the relegation zone.
Rotherham were 1-0 up at home to Leeds last Saturday before two second-half goals from Mateusz Klich clinched the points for the league leaders.
Millwall lost 1-0 to Rotherham earlier this season.
“The players straightaway after the game were talking about Rotherham,” Harris said. “Everton was brilliant, but that’s gone. That won’t be a second thought in my mind now, it’s all about Rotherham, which is a much more important game than Everton.
“We’ve watched all the Rotherham footage already, we have a game plan already of what we want to do and we’ll be working on it all week. The players will know what to expect when we come up against Rotherham.
“We’ve watched the game back from up there earlier in the season.
“It’s a huge game for us, it’s another opportunity for us to try and perform at The Den and stretch away from those bottom places.
“It’s a real tough one because Rotherham are a huge, physical side that continually bombard your box. It’s a team that we don’t often have to compete against in the sense of physical attributes in this division.
“They’re similar to Middlesbrough, they’re the two that can match us. We’ve had Blackburn, Boro and now Rotherham in a short period of time, so we have to be battle-hardened. We have to have real quality as well.
“Against Everton at the weekend when their pressing was unbelievable along with their work ethic and their pace we still kept the ball for really good periods.
“On the back of the Everton game we want to carry that momentum, the atmosphere. The buzz around the training ground is first-class and we’re looking forward to the game.”
