IAN Holloway praised Neil Harris for the job he has done after seeing his QPR side lose 1-0 to Millwall.
Steve Morison scored the only goal of the game for the Lions, after Jake Bidwell headed straight at Jordan Archer from a good position in the first half and then Matt Smith nodded wide with two minutes left.
“They took their chance, we didn’t take ours,” Holloway said. “It was a pretty robust game from both teams, there weren’t many chances so it was all down to who could take one.
“I’m sure Steve Morison will be delighted. I don’t feel quite the same, as you might guess. Matt Smith had a good chance and so did Jake Bidwell, but unfortunately at the minute we’re not making enough chances from the possession that we get.
“We couldn’t dent them or the crowd. It was all about that first goal – they got it, we didn’t. After that we huffed and puffed.
“When you get into crossing positions you’ve got to give your centre-forwards a chance to score. They did that.
“There was a cohesion between their forwards because they have been working well with each other for the last few years, albeit they went down and came back up again.
[Lee] Gregory and Morison are a handful. You have to build that understanding and at the minute our forwards aren’t quite getting that.
“We needed to take the steam out of it and score the first goal. You know what the Championship is like and who they have beaten here recently.
“I felt we gave them a really good game, it could have been us or it could have ben them. All I can say is well done. Neil has got them going well, they’re brilliant at home at the minute.
“I think Neil has done a great job, the team is well-organised. When he brought [Shaun] Williams on we couldn’t get the ball off him. That was the last thing we needed at that time.
“It’s nice to see [Aiden] O’Brien doing what he does, and Wilfred [Fred Onyedinma] coming on and doing what he does. That’s what it’s all about.
“We’ve got to go back to a plan that maybe Millwall needed to do. But that’s none of my business, I’ve got QPR to deal with.”
Holloway shrugged off the abuse he received from Millwall fans.
He said: “I’m doing my job, as I’ve always done it and that’s it. It’s what you’re paid to do.
“You [fans] pay your money, you take your choice.”
