ED Upson has apologised for getting sent off against Wigan last night – admitting “the emotion of the game” got the better of him.
The midfielder will miss three of Millwall’s four remaining fixtures through suspenion after pushing Jason Pearce in the face.
Pearce was himself red carded for a late tackle on Aiden O’Brien and Upson raised his hands instinctively in defence of his teammate.
Interim boss Neil Harris refuses to critcise Upson’s actions, saying:
“I can’t ask for passion, commitment, tackles and challenges, and then moan at one of my players for looking after one of his own.”
