A pensioner in her eighties is battling for her life after being attacked in her own care home, police told community leaders in a briefing note.
She sustained a serious head injury in the attack at her SE15 care home on Saturday, at around 9.30pm.
Police have refused to confirm to the News the name of the care home involved.
The person behind the attack is thought to be another resident of the home, after police said they were called to reports of one resident attacking another.
Officers have confirmed that the woman is being treated in hospital following the attack, and that they were called to reports of a resident attacking another.
“She is currently in hospital being treated for her injuries,” said the Met.
“She remains in a life threatening condition.”
The alleged attacker has been identified, and they are also “being cared for,” said police.
