If your New Year’s resolution is to cut down on plastic but you’re not sure where to start, an event held later this month by Plastic Free East Dulwich is just the ticket.
Held at the Lordship Pub on January 23, at 7pm, the team from Veolia will give a talk about how their waste management facility is helping to move the UK into a “circular economy”, and how residents can make the most of their recycling.
Plastic Free East Dulwich’s team will also be talking about their work encouraging businesses, schools and residents to ditch single-use plastic championing environmentally friendly alternatives.
Founded by Ric Baldock, the community group is part of the charity Surfers Against Sewage’s campaign to create “plastic free communities” around the UK.
On the night, they will be sharing their top tips for reducing single-use plastic, which pollutes the world’s oceans, and sharing advice about how everyone can make a difference.
The free event is on Thursday, January 23, at the Lordship Pub, 211 Lordship Lane, SE22 8HA from 7pm-10pm.
