From Monday 21st – Friday 25th October, young people will be given the chance to train to be a fully qualified lifeguard, writes Rosie Clarkson…
At Camberwell Leisure Centre, during the October half term, a course in life-guarding will be taught and all spaces are free!
However, attendees must be sixteen or over and must also be good swimmers, based on tests given by the pool, to take this nationally accredited course.
Those that complete and pass the life-guarding course will then be welcome to apply for employment through Everyone Active, who run the council’s leisure centres. This could be full-time, part-time, casually or via an apprenticeship scheme.
