Wednesday have been one of the least active clubs in the transfer market this window, opting to bring in just two players so far with just a few days left before the start of the season.
Jordan Rhodes’ loan move from Middlesbrough was made permanent after he failed to cut it at the Riverside. Rhodes scored three times in 14 league starts for the Owls last season. George Boyd was offered a deal following his release by Burnley and will bring plenty of Championship and Premier League experience.
Manager Carlos Carvalhal must lift his squad after Wednesday suffered play-off heartbreak in successive seasons.
They will also need to keep hold of star man Fernando Forestieri, who was their top scorer last season. As well as his goals, he is key to how they play and is a constant menace for opposing defences to deal with.
