MILLWALL are back at The Den this weekend and looking for their first win in five Championship games.
The Lions have not tasted victory since beating Sheffield Wednesday at home on August 17.
Millwall have taken seven points from a possible nine in their own backyard, compared to two from 12 on their travels.
The visitors to SE 16 on Saturday are QPR. Mark Warburton’s side come to south London looking for a fourth straight league win that could see them enter the top six.
Alex Grace spoke to Rangers fan Harry Evans this week.
Why do you support QPR?
Dad was a big QPR fan. He went as far as making sure I was born at the closest hospital to Loftus Road!
I’ve never looked back.
What has been your favourite season following the R’s
2010 -11 when we won the Championship. Adel Taarabt was and still is the best player I have seen in a QPR shirt.
The highlight game that season was Adel single-handedly destroying Swansea. It was a 4-0 win at Loftus Road and he scored twice.
And the worst?
2012-13. Having stayed up in such dramatic fashion the year before, it was a truly awful campaign, topped off by getting relegated in the worst match I have ever seen between us and Reading.
It was 0-0, relegating us both. I don’t think either side had more than a shot.
Rangers are looking for a fourth league win in a row on Saturday – what has been key to the good run of form?
I think we have looked very good since the beginning of the season.
A few stupid goals and penalties given away are the only reason we haven’t picked up more points.
Mark Warbuton has done brilliantly to bring in some players either for free or on loan that really work well with his passing system.
So we are slicing teams open on a frequent basis.
There’s been a lot of managers in and out of Rangers over the last few years – do you think you’ve now found the right man for the job?
I was sceptical at the start of the season as I had heard that he only has one style, which has caught him out when he didn’t have the right men for the job.
But the squad we have have bought in to his philosophy and really look like they are enjoying themselves.
Rangers currently sit seventh in the table – what would be classed as a good season in terms of an overall finish?
At the start of the season, I would have said top half would be a good campaign. Having watched us play now, I’d say we can genuinely make the play-offs.
Millwall signed Matt Smith in the summer – were you sad to him leave and do you think he could come back to haunt you this weekend?
I was. He seemed like a nice fella and provided us with another option.
We haven’t missed him so far but it’ll be interesting to see what the tactics are when we need a goal or two with 10 minutes to go.
At Bristol City, we really could have done with that outlet. The man is a nuisance and does score goals. He is almost guaranteed to score against us.
What are your thoughts on Millwall boss Neil Harris?
A bit one-dimensional and will probably keep Millwall at about this level.
I can’t see scope for much progression, though.
If you could sign one Millwall player, who would it be and why?
Jed Wallace is the obvious answer. He would be good as he would offer us a bit of width. We play quite narrow with our current wingers.
Who will be your key men on Saturday?
Easy: Eze. Ebere is the best player in the Championship and it will be difficult for us to keep hold of him next January.
Our attack is all quite deadly though: Jordan Hugill, Nahki Wells and Ilias Chair will be difficult to contain.
Will you be at the game of Saturday?
I will – though Behind Enemy Lines with a couple of Millwall-supporting friends!
What is your predicted QPR starting XI and formation?
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It should be similar to our line-up last weekend when we defeated Luton Town 3-2: five at the back with the wing-backs providing the width.
We’ll have a holding midfielder in Dominic Ball allowing Eze and Chair to create. Hugill and Wells should start up top.
5-3-2: Lumley; Kane, Hall, Leistner, Barbet, Manning; Eze, Ball, Chair; Hugill, Wells.
Ball could come out with Geoff Cameron coming in.
Also, it’ll be interesting to see if Warburton swaps out the goalie as Joe Lumley has looked suspect a couple of times this season.
Finally, a score prediction?
3-1 to QPR after Smith puts Millwall one up.
