AIDEN O’Brien wants another “crazy” Den atmosphere when Millwall return to south Bermondsey to host Hull City this Saturday.
The Lions have been on the road for three successive games and will be aiming to maintain their 100 per cent home record after 1-0 wins against Preston and Sheffield Wednesday this season.
The average Den attendance so far this season is 15,000 and manager Neil Harris and several players have commented on the noise that has been generated.
“What an opening game that was against Preston, the fans were crazy,” O’Brien said. “For the first game this season that kind of set the tone for us going forward. We haven’t lost at home and we want to keep that momentum going.
“The fans play a big part in what we do at this football club, as they know, and we need them to keep turning up in numbers getting behind us. With them, and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, with them behind us and us being confident we feel like we can do a job on anyone.”
O’Brien could continue his partnership up front with Matt Smith. Lions boss Neil Harris has used the pair in home games.
O’Brien added: “We don’t pay the prettiest of football but it’s effective and has been over the years. You can’t stop a big ball off Matt Smith, you ain’t winning it and there’s runners off him. We’re really good at that and not a lot of teams can stop it.”
