NEIL Harris has ramped up the pressure on Barnsley ahead of Millwall’s trip to Oakwell on Saturday.
The Tykes are just three points above the bottom three, with Millwall – the side they defeated in the 2016 League One play-off final to win promotion – safe with nine games left.
Jose Morais’ side haven’t won at home in the league since November, compared to their opponents’ run of five successive Championship victories on the road.
Millwall have an outside chance of finishing in the top six after overachieving this campaign so far, and have experienced the pressure of promotion run-ins in the last two seasons.
“No expectation, only what we put on ourselves,” Harris said, as he aims to get his first league win against Barnsley as Millwall boss after four defeats. “The last couple of years have been a real benefit to us. Even talking about that experience the last couple of years is a nice position to be in.
“I think we’re just enjoying where we are at the moment. If I were Barnsley I wouldn’t enjoy the prospect of facing Millwall, that’s for sure.
“We go into the game and they’ve got to win. They’re playing Millwall at home, a team they were supposed to be ahead of in the league. They have to beat us.
“We’ll go and enjoy it, have a real tussle and win our individual battles and try to play better than the opponent.
“We get through this one Saturday then there are eight games to go after the international break, and there will be teams around and above us really panicking. They don’t want to be below Millwall and they have to get into the play-offs. We’ll go and attack every game.”
