MILLWALL have completed the signing of Jiri Skalak from Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.
Skalak, 26, has signed a long-term contract with the Lions and leaves The Amex after two and a half years.
The fee is believed to have been close to the club record, but Paul Goddard’s £800,000 move from Derby County in 1989 still stands.
Skalak made 47 appearances for Brighton, scoring twice and was a key of their side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2016/2017.
Despite an impressive first 18 months on the south coast, Skalak found game-time extremely limited last season and made just three appearances in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
Skalak is a Czech Republic international and made four appearances in their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign as they narrowly missed out on a place in Russia.
He is Neil Harris’ third signing of the window and is available to face Middlesbrough on Saturday.
