MILLWALL will celebrate 50 years since their 59 game unbeaten run at The Den by wearing a blue and white stripe kit for the 2016-17 campaign.
The Lions haven’t played in a striped kit since they donned one back in 1967, when the feat was accomplished – a record that still stands to this day.
Modelling the kit are Lions legends Billy Neil and Barry Rowan as well as current first team players Sid Nelson, Mahlon Romeo and Ben Thompson.
New kit manufacture Errea have taken over from Macron, who had been the Lions official kit supplier for five seasons.
Errea will supply the team with all kits and training wear from next season onwards.
After launching the new kit, Chief executive Andy Ambler said: “We have worked closely with Errea to produce an eye-catching and attractive design which celebrates 50 years since one of the finest achievements in Millwall’s history.
“We are delighted with how the new home kit looks and hope that our fans are equally pleased and impressed with it.”
The new home kit will be available to purchase from June 24.
