A quad injury has side-lined Aiden O’Brien at the end of Millwall’s season, Lions boss Neil Harris has explained.
O’Brien has missed Millwall’s last two games, and he won’t be available on the final day against Wigan Athletic next Sunday.
The player could be recovered for European Championship qualifier games against Denmark and Gibraltar for his country in June.
“If he can go away with Ireland in the summer he might be able to do that. Aiden certainly would have been involved in these last three games but he’s got a haematoma in his quad, which is quite dangerous,” Harris said.
“He’s been very unfortunate. He’s not available.
“It’s a stage of the season where we’ve had to carry people over the line, really, that now have got to have treatment time because they’ve taken injections or tablets to get through to the end of the season. I am able leave them out now.”
