MILLWALL’S payments to intermediaries and agents accounted for less than one per cent of the total spent by Championship clubs in the latest period it was measured, according to figures released by the FA this week.
Millwall paid £311,505 to players’ representatives, 0.74 per cent of the total of £42,183,048 shelled out by current second-tier clubs between February 1, 2017 and January 31, 2018.
That puts them 21st in a table of payments, with only Bolton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Burton Albion spending less in the period.
Aston Villa are top with a net spend of £5,510,180, while Sunderland – who are in danger of a second successive relegation – are second, showing a figure of £4,370,897 in their books.
