NEIL Harris said his Millwall side are not overconfident heading into today’s clash with struggling Rotherham United.
The Millers have won just three of their 39 league fixtures this season and have not tasted victory since Boxing Day.
On paper, it means that Millwall – who have lost just one of their six games under Harris – will be expected to turn up at the New York Stadium and win.
If that were to transpire, Rotherham’s relegation will be mathematically confirmed and they could still go down even if they do win.
Despite the factors in Millwall’s favour, Harris insists he is not taking Rotherham for granted.
Speaking after Friday’s 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion, the Lions boss said: “It’s 11 points from six games, there’s a real confidence and belief in the group.
“I’m not going to get caught in the thought-process of – ‘Rotherham are bottom of the league, we should win that game’. They took a good point in their last game before the international break [0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town] so they’ll be trying to build some confidence.
“For us, we just have to concentrate on ourselves. Be the best we can be. We’ll prepare exactly the same way we do for every game, as we would for Leeds, Leicester, Southampton and West Brom.
“There’s no must-win games for us at the moment. Every game is vital for us to get points and improve performances and that’s what we’ll be looking to do on Monday.”
