IF Millwall are to go through to the play-off final after 90 minutes on Sunday they will have to do something they haven’t managed this season – win at the home of a top-six side.
The Lions lost four and drew one (Bradford) of their away fixtures against the teams who finished above them in the League One table.
Millwall have won just three of 12 league games away from home in 2017, but Scunthorpe’s three defeats in their 12 fixtures at Glanford Park this year offers some hope.
Lions boss Neil Harris admitted Thursday’s first-leg 0-0 draw at The Den has made them underdogs in the return leg.
Millwall are likely to be without Shaun Cummings as they aim to upset the odds. Mahlon Romeo will start at right-back instead of Cummings, who limped off in the 62nd minute on Thursday.
Harris will check on the fitness of centre-back Shaun Hutchinson, who is playing with a rib injury and may not be able to feature in a third game in seven days. Jake Cooper will partner Byron Webster in the centre of defence if Hutchinson is ruled out.
Scunthorpe captain Stephen Dawson suffered an arm injury in added-time at The Den on Thursday and was substituted. That’s unlikely to keep him out as the Iron aim for a first League One play-off final at Wembley since 2009.
Away goals don’t count on Sunday, and the tie will be decided on penalties if it is still level after extra-time.
