SHAUN Hutchinson and Shane Ferguson are still major doubts as Millwall play their second game in eight days at Bristol City on Tuesday night.
Hutchinson was on the bench against Nottingham Forest on Friday night but pulled up in training on Sunday with that rib injury that has kept him out of the last two games.
Lions boss Gary Rowett gave an insight into preparations today and tomorrow. The squad were usually at the training ground early under Neil Harris, but on Monday they weren’t due in until midday.
They travel to Bristol on Monday afternoon.
“We mix it up, I’m quite big on recovery and sleep being the best way to do it, the cheapest way and probably the most effective,” Rowett said.
“We’re travelling to Bristol today so sometimes you don’t want to be hanging around from too early in the day. We’ve got tomorrow sitting around for quite a long period as well.
“We’ll do an activation session tomorrow in the gym just to get the players moving, almost like a warm-up, so they haven’t gone a whole day without doing anything.
“It’s just the little details. Some managers prefer to travel on the day. My argument is if you’ve got a three or four hour journey on the day of the game that’s not great preparation.
“If it means the players are sat around a little bit bored but prepared physically then that’s the most important thing.”
Millwall are unbeaten in five league games but that run will be tested by a Robins side that won 2-1 at Fulham at the weekend. That followed the 5-2 trouncing of Huddersfield at Ashton Gate, where Lee Johnson’s side haven’t lost since the opening day.
Possible Millwall starting XI: Bialkowski; Romeo, Pearce, Cooper, M Wallace; Thompson, Molumby, Williams, Skalak; J Wallace; Bradshaw.
Match odds: Bristol City 6/5 Draw 11/5 Millwall 12/5
