NEIL Harris wants a reaction from his side to the 3-1 defeat against Preston – but says they will take the confidence from their 1-0 win at Derby into their clash with Hull City on Tuesday.
The Lions produced contrasting performances to win at Pride Park before following it up by giving away three goals to Preston inside 27 minutes at The Den on Saturday.
That result leaves Millwall four points about the bottom three, but they can make that seven by winning their game in hand at the KCOM Stadium.
Hull won six consecutive league games after their 2-2 draw at The Den in December.
But Nigel Adkins’ side are without a win in three games and conceded five goals at Brentford on Saturday.
Harris said: “They’ve just been beaten 5-1 in London and we’ve just been beaten at home. I’ll be looking for a reaction from my players and I’m sure Nigel will be saying the same to his players.
“I expect a game with two committed bunches of players trying to make up for the disappointment of the weekend.
“Hull had a really good run around Christmas winning six in a row to elevate themselves from the bottom three up towards the top half of the league.
“It’s evened out due to the quality in the division. We know it’s a tough place to go but our last away performance was a 1-0 win at Derby, so we take real confidence from that.”
Harris could pick the same side that beat the Rams, with Jed Wallace playing off Lee Gregory.
Ben Thompson could also be in contention after impressing off the bench and scoring against Preston.
Millwall won the corresponding fixture last season 2-1 (above).
