More than two hundred schoolchildren beat drums and sang songs around Bermondsey Spa Gardens last week, as part of Boutcher Church of England Primary School’s carnival event.
Now in its fourth year, schoolchildren marched out of their school and around the garden wearing themed costumes and singing along to carnival music.
Afterwards they went back to the school playground where parents watched each class perform a different type of music.
Eilidh Verhoeven, head teacher of Boutcher, said: “We just wanted something to do that could involve everyone. We are a small community and know everyone by name. We want to do something easy too.
“We do themes each year and this year is Leaders. It always gets people participating too and it makes them feel part of the community.”
