How will legalising e-scooters affect the blind people in our borough?
The Rotherhithe Tunnel, London Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge will remain open throughout the day.
Drivers have been warned to steer clear of central London if at all possible on Sunday, with Transport for London (TfL) predicting significant delays to road journeys around the closed-off areas. Emergency services will still be operating as normal and you should still call 999 in an emergency.
As part of Ride London, back for the first time in three years, around 25,000 cyclists will go from Victoria Embankment on the north side of the Thames out to Essex and back in eight hours.
There will also be family-friendly ‘Free Cycle’ zones on closed roads in central London, as well as plenty of other bike-related activities, to try and get people more comfortable cycling.
Will Norman, London’s walking and cycling commissioner, said: “There are lots more people taking part for the first time – 23 per cent of the places have gone to women, which is a massive shift.
“Part of this is about trying to inspire people to cycle, particularly groups who are less represented in cycling.”
