The London New Year’s Day Parade (LNYDP) will return soon and a Southwark-based charity is offering the chance to win two VIP seats – worth £150 each.
The LNYDP has been running for the last three decades on January 1st and Carnaval Del Pueblo is the official Latin American partner.
Last year, they fundraised to get a marching band from El Salvador over to perform in the parade and hosted them here in Southwark.
In addition, every London borough gets the chance to enter and each will compete for a prize pot totalling forty thousand pounds for their mayor’s selected charities.
Carnaval Del Pueblo’s entry to the parade includes the Brazilian Paraiso School of Samba, based in Bermondsey.
The event – which is broadcast live on TV – features performers from across the world. More than 250,000 spectators are expected to pack the 2-mile route from Green Park to the Palace of Westminster, with millions more joining live on TV around the World.
Each prize includes two seats in the VIP grandstand (opens from 11 am) with high-end bathroom facilities; two VIP goody bags (containing a flag, blanket, running order and hand warmers); every VIP seat is located within the TV Finale Area to watch the best performances live and from the best location along the Parade route and access to the VIP Street Food Village.
All money raised will go to Carnaval del Pueblo Asociación, to support them in delivering their annual free music festival in Burgess Park.
