BEN Amos said he has already seen how much of a “tight-knit group” the Millwall squad is after he joined on a season-long loan from Bolton Wanderers.
Amos, 28, flew out to Portugal this morning to join the Lions’ training camp and immediately got to work with the squad at their Vilamoura base.
The former Manchester United stopper will provide competition for Jordan Archer and David Martin.
He also links up again with Millwall goalkeeping coach Lee Turner. The duo worked together at Charlton last season.
“I’ve said a few times in the past how good Lee is. I really enjoy coming into work with him every day. He’s brought me on in the past and hopefully he can improve me every day this year,” Amos told Millwall’s official website.
“It’s always healthy to have that competition for places and make sure you stay motivated. Even the most motivated of players need someone behind or in front of you. That definitely gives you that extra kick every day you come in to training.
“I can already see that everyone works their socks off. They seem a really tight-knit group and that’s half the battle. As long as you’ve then got quality in the right places you’ll do well.
“I’ve seen today the quality in the group. I have no doubts we’ll do well.”
