SOUTHEND United have turned down Millwall’s latest offer for Ryan Leonard.
The Lions’ bid was in the region of £500,000, but the Shrimpers have again insisted the midfielder is not for sale.
However, Southend boss Phil Brown doesn’t expect that to be the end of the saga. He told the Echo: “The chairman has turned down another offer for Ryan and the message is we don’t want to sell him.
“It’s flattering that two or three clubs want him and I would imagine that will continue to be the case until the transfer window closes at the end of August.”
Sheffield United are also in the hunt for 25-year-old Leonard.
