NEIL Harris hasn’t completely ruled out a future at Millwall for winger Paris Cowan-Hall.
The 25-year-old re-joined Wycombe Wanderers last weekend and made his second debut as a substitute for the club in their 2-0 defeat to former West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan’s Leyton Orient in League Two.
Millwall signed Cowan-Hall from Wycombe twelve months ago, but he only made eleven appearances in total under Ian Holloway and Neil Harris, including just one start against AFC Fylde in the FA Cup in November.
He has had a luckless run with injuries in the last year, suffering a hairline fracture of his tibia on his debut against Reading and then picking up an ankle injury in his next appearance against Bolton last March.
Cowan-Hall joined Bristol Rovers on loan in November, but couldn’t nail down a regular place in the first team and he was subsequently recalled early.
Harris praised the attitude of the player and now hopes a run of regular first-team football can re-ignite his career and ultimately benefit Millwall.
Harris said: “It’s not worked out so far for Paris with opportunities to force his way into the starting XI. Paris has had probably a hugely frustrating twelve months with us.
“Every time it looked like he was about to get an opportunity with us injury has robbed him, or form.
“He comes in every day and works really hard. But it’s the same as Lee Martin, they need that Saturday afternoon football feeling, that buzz you get.
“And Paris hasn’t been getting that. He went to Bristol Rovers to get it and didn’t quite get regular games with a team that was winning every week.
“The opportunity came up for him to go to Wycombe. It’s a club he knows and he is well thought of there. It’s a good opportunity for him to play week-in, week-out.
“We feel it’s a good chance for him close to the end of the season to get some rhythm in his game and make regular appearances with a view to coming back in the summer to join us for pre-season and stake a claim for next year.”
